Frequently asked questions
Who pays the PhilHealth premium?
Employees and employers split it equally. Self-employed, professionals, freelancers and voluntary members pay the whole premium themselves.
Is there a minimum and maximum?
Yes. Income below ₱10,000.00 is computed as ₱10,000.00, and income above ₱100,000.00 as ₱100,000.00, so the premium runs from ₱500.00 to ₱5,000.00 a month.
What income do employees use?
Monthly basic salary. Overtime, allowances and bonuses are not included.
Are OFWs and senior citizens covered differently?
Land-based OFWs pay as direct contributors using their income. Senior citizens are covered by the national government under the Expanded Senior Citizens Act and pay nothing.
