How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your monthly salary and pick how many days a year you’re paid for.
  2. To go the other way, enter an hourly rate and read the monthly equivalent.

How it’s computed

Daily rate = monthly salary × 12 ÷ paid days a year. Hourly rate = daily rate ÷ hours a day.

Backwards: monthly = hourly × hours a day × paid days ÷ 12.

Example

On ₱20,000.00 a month with a 5-day work week:

  • ₱20,000.00 × 12 ÷ 261 = ₱919.54 a day.
  • ÷ 8 hours = ₱114.94 an hour.

Frequently asked questions

Which factor should I use?

261: Paid for workdays and regular holidays; not paid for 2 rest days a week. 313: Paid for workdays and regular holidays; not paid for 1 rest day a week. 365: Monthly-paid employees considered paid on all days, including rest days and holidays.

Why not just divide by 22 days and 8 hours?

Dividing by 22 ignores that months have different numbers of workdays and that regular holidays are paid. The yearly factor spreads your annual pay evenly over the days you are actually paid for.

What hourly rate is used for overtime?

Overtime, holiday and night differential pay all start from this regular hourly rate. See the Overtime Pay and Holiday Pay calculators for the premiums.

I’m a freelancer. How do I set an hourly rate?

Enter the monthly income you want and the factor for your work week, then add a margin for unbilled hours, taxes and the SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG you pay on your own.
